Last night ended my run at Anthea Yoga & Healing Arts Center. Not only was teaching there an amazing experience, but a great learning process and a incredible opportunity to develop in every imaginable way.
I truly thank all the yogis that walked through those doors and shared their practice with me. You confided in me to guide you through your moving meditation and we explored together with great awareness and a sensibility for fun.
I wish all the yogis that practice there complete prosperity.
A big thank you to Sylvia and Laz for having such a beautiful intimate space and trusting me -- giving a new yoga teacher with little experience a chance at leading classes there. Not only will that never be forgotten, but it will always be cherished and forever rooted in me.
I'm not saying goodbye to any of you… you are all a part of me. I'm just saying hello to another chapter in this life of mine.
On Saturday, March 7th, I'll be hosting a vinyasa foundations workshop at Anthea Yoga & Healing Arts Center.
Downward-facing dog, plank, chaturanga, upward-facing dog and downward-facing dog... known as a vinyasa. An integral part of most flow classes, used to warm up, press the reset button of the mind and body, while flowing between sequences.
Have you ever been unsure of what you were supposed to be feeling, or why your wrists, shoulders or back ache?
This workshop will break down each of the four main poses – downdog, plank, chaturanga, and updog – and its transitions. Learning modifications to stay off achy wrists and shoulders, and which muscles are vital to strengthen and open to perform the vinyasa safely and effectively will be the aim of the workshop. All levels are welcomed.
If you pre-register, the fee will be $20.00. The day of the workshop, $25.00.
Day: Saturday March 7th.
Time: 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
Address: 34-01 45th street, Astoria NY 11101.
See you soon,
An intimate studio, serene for Yoga, with all the ambience needed to roll your mat out and just move with awareness.
Every Wednesday, I lead a Vinyasa Flow class at Anthea Yoga & Healing Arts Center. Whether its inside the cozy studio, with flickering candle lights, or the gentle breeze and sunset action outdoors on the patio deck.
On any given Wednesday night, from 8 to 9:15, you can experience either.
Hope to see you there!

Have a wonderful first week of August!
This weekend was jam-packed.
The Fun Friday weekly 90-minute class at Makara Studio jumped it off, 108 Sun Salutations with Anthea Yoga & Healing Arts Center lit the Solstice fire, a wild-time at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade and Sunday Yoga at Cooper Park along with a hot vinyasa class at The Yoga Room was the cherry on top of the sundae.
Thanks to everyone who hung out with me, participated in the yoga action, kicking-off of the Summer.
This weekend I'll be all-city again.
I have the weekly classes on Wednesday and Friday at Anthea and Makara, in addition to two hot classes I'll be subbing at Earth Yoga on Wednesday and Saturday at The Yoga Room in Astoria. Also subbing Sunday afternoon at Anthea. For all the specifics, CLICK HERE, for the schedule.
See you soon,
Meditative mantra chants and potent breathing of focused yogis was last night’s soundtrack ...
Thank you to all who engaged in a beautiful 75-minute practice last night at Anthea Yoga. The free-flowing sun salutations were aspiring and the sight of upside down bodies in headstands was completely meditative and serene.
Trust your breath; never lose it during your practice and savor the lightness and strength you attain via your prana.
My peeps at Anthea...
See you next week!
