This Friday at Makara Studio, Brooklyn we go hard for 90-minutes! Nothing is better than starting your weekend with a donation based vinyasa class. Show up: we start at 4:00 pm, and end at 5:30 pm with a smiling face. Then on Saturday, 90 more minutes of asana, as I continue to cover for Hannah Harpole, leading the Noon to 1:30 pm Intermediate/Advance vinyasa class. Last week was fun ... this Saturday, expect more of the same. Sunday, end up at Cooper Park. From Noon to 1:15 pm for donation yoga outdoors. Down to Earth Markets will be out there as well with their great selection of fruits, vegetables and pantry staples. If you are a local ... walk or bike it to Makara. If not ... the L-train leaves you within minutes of the studio. Bring it! -Vic

Anthea is Astoria’s intimate home for yoga and wellness. An intimate studio, serene for Yoga, with all the ambience needed to roll your mat out and just move with awareness. Every Wednesday, I lead a Vinyasa Flow class at Anthea Yoga & Healing Arts Center. Whether its inside the cozy studio, with flickering candle lights, or the gentle breeze and sunset action outdoors on the patio deck. On any given Wednesday night, from 8 to 9:15, you can experience either. Hope to see you there! Peace, Vic Extra, Extra … This upcoming week is a busy one. Rooftop yoga on a pleasant Summer evening ... there's nothing like it. I had the pleasure of leading a class last night on the friendly confines of my rooftop in Astoria. A special thank you to the participants, as they were my sounding board for new sequences I'm working on, transitions and flows that will be unveiled in upcoming classes.
NAMASTE, Vic This weekend was jam-packed. The Fun Friday weekly 90-minute class at Makara Studio jumped it off, 108 Sun Salutations with Anthea Yoga & Healing Arts Center lit the Solstice fire, a wild-time at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade and Sunday Yoga at Cooper Park along with a hot vinyasa class at The Yoga Room was the cherry on top of the sundae. Thanks to everyone who hung out with me, participated in the yoga action, kicking-off of the Summer. This weekend I'll be all-city again. I have the weekly classes on Wednesday and Friday at Anthea and Makara, in addition to two hot classes I'll be subbing at Earth Yoga on Wednesday and Saturday at The Yoga Room in Astoria. See you soon, Vic Down to Earth Market & Makara Studio have a great joint effort to bring wellness to Cooper Park in Brooklyn. The market, which features seasonal fruits and vegetables, pantry staples, plants and other great items, will be open from 11:00AM to 4:00PM. Here's a Google Maps LINK for directions.
The Yoga class will begin at noon. Bring your own mats, towels, water bottles -- friends & family -- and make sure to wear comfortable clothing. Try to get there 10-15-minutes prior to sign-up, as we'll meet in-front of the farmers' market stand, or join the group of yogis with their mats rolled out inside the park. Remember, these classes are donation based, and will be weekly on Sundays (weather permitting) through September 28. See you there, Vic Friday the 13th... big deal! Torrential showers... whatever! The yogis in Brooklyn came out in full-force to Makara Studio for a 90-minute class that was... DA BOMB! It was a sweaty house today, as a crew of eager and fierce practitioners moved with consciousness, smiled and started their weekend right by hitting-up the weekly donation-based class I lead. Chair pose with a grin, back-bends with contentment and a savasana that was pure bliss. I want to THANK everyone who showed up today and supported this hidden gem. Makara Studio is a great place to plop your mat down and get your asana mojo on. Join me every Friday at Makara and Sundays at Cooper Park to start and end your weekends properly. |
