I would like to thank everyone that participated, joined me and supported the yoga in the park classes in Brooklyn all Summer long. Cooper Park was the perfect location for 75-minutes of movement, awareness and complete bliss every Sunday. A special thanks to Down to Earth Markets for hosting the event, along with the backing of Makara Studio. The market will remain open till November 23rd, providing the best in seasonal fruits and vegetables, pantry staples and high quality products, along with great services such as textile recycling. Also, special thanks to the periodical AM New York for featuring us in their weekly health calendar. Big shout-out to KeVita, which provided their Sparkling Probiotic Drinks for free during the summer. It was quite the experience teaching yoga in the park. With complete acknowledgement, I was honored and truly blessed to lead so many people through their asana practice. Peace and love, Vic PS -- check out this great slide show, with some captures from the weekly sessions. All photos by Veronica L. Photography.

That's all folks ... my last outdoor yoga in the park class this season! Since June, Makara Studio & Down to Earth Markets have brought wellness to Cooper Park. I've had the honor to teach park yoga classes every Sunday. Not once did we get rained out or had inclement weather... and it looks like today will be another beauty. Come out and join is for our last class today, from Noon to 1:15 pm. For this vinyasa style class, bring your own mats, water bottles, comfortable clothing, a friend or two and a sensibility for fun and exploration. This is a donation based class, and the support has been greatly appreciated by the studio and the farmer's market. I would like to give a special thanks to the periodical, AM New York, for featuring us in their weekly health calendar. Also, special thanks to KeVita, which provided their Sparkling Probiotic Drinks for free during the Summer. Brooklynites, if you want to catch me at Makara Studio, I'm there every Friday from 4 to 5:30... a 90-minute donation based class. You can't beat that! Also, I'll be subbing next Saturday, October 4, Advanced/Intermediate... another 90 minute class (noon to 1:30 pm), at Makara. Drop-in rates apply for non-members. Lets do it again ... kickoff the weekend with an invigorating Hot Vinyasa class! The Yoga Room (Long Island City location) is the site - 7:00 am to 8:00 am. We'll move early in the morning, get the prana flowing and set-up the weekend with a sunrise practice that will wake up the senses and facilitate great vibes. Hope to see you there... if not, check out the rest of the schedule and get your asana on. Peace, Victor In this chapter, the final class at Beloved Yogi Harlem was last night. It was a difficult decision, as working there has been a positive experience and one for which I am thankful. I truly appreciate the opportunity Siri Rishi Kaur gave me, to bring my style of vinyasa yoga to that community's precious studio. I wish Siri Rishi continued success, love and light to the studio, to her projects, and to all the yogis that I met during my time there. Sat Nam That could be you in the above picture!
Join us every Sunday for vinyasa yoga at Cooper Park in Brooklyn, brought to you by Down to Earth Markets and Makara Studio. I'll be there until September 28, from noon to 1:00 pm, weather permitting. Bring family members and friends... oh and your own mat, water bottle, willingness to move and enhance your practice outdoors. Try to get there 10-15-minutes prior to sign-up, as we'll meet in front of the farmers' market stand, or join the group of yogis with their mats rolled out inside the park. Remember, these classes are donation based, and we'll only be there for a few more weeks! Over the next few weeks, you can catch me at The Yoga Room (the Long Island City location) every Friday, leading their 7:00 am Hot Vinyasa class. Is there a better way to transition into the weekend? Here's a prior blog post about having a morning practice, click here. Also, I'll be there Saturday (9/13/2014) and Sunday (9/14/2014), doing the Hot Vinyasa thing. Both classes are 75-minutes and they both start at 1:45 pm. Peace and love, Vic That could be you in the above picture!
