"An attitude of gratitude brings great things." -- Yogi Bhajan The gratitude we embody during our yoga is mostly about our state of mind. It concerns making a conscious effort to incorporate thankfulness into lifestyle. This can be done in a variety of ways: through setting an intention at the beginning of the day, before you begin your practice, or as part of your meditation.
If we remind ourselves to be grateful for what we do have, we lose the negative impressions that often take up our head uninvited. By selecting a tone of thankfulness, that fear, sadness, anxiety, and even anger gets pushed aside and our gratitude makes room for strength, happiness, confidence, and peace. The term gratitude yoga is not limited to the mat. We all can demonstrate appreciation through all areas of our life. Let’s begin with the one day of the year that speaks to gratitude more than any other holiday out there,...Thanksgiving. ON DEMAND Unlimited subscribers will have access to a weekly selection of pre-recorded classes if you cannot make it to our LIVE sessions. Check your inboxes for updates and library revisions. NAMASTE, Victor Cotto www.YogaWithVictor.com Instagram: CottoVic Facebook: Yoga With Victor - Vicyasa™ “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.” Introspection, self-study, also known as Svadhyaya, is a foundational practice of yoga. One of the most powerful things you can do is to know yourself -- to deeply reflect on your true essence and harness its power.
We all self-study when we practice asana (poses); we identify how we move our bodies in space, we adjust and react to our movements and breathing and create order through our ability to study - not judge. And being able to enhance our asana practice and develop a healthy condition into our body is to move with complete understanding which is achieved through study. But there are many other ways to practice Svadhyaya:

NAMASTE, Victor Cotto www.YogaWithVictor.com Instagram: CottoVic Facebook: Yoga With Victor - Vicyasa™ “The only way to experience true wellbeing is to turn inward. This is what yoga means - not up, not out, but in. The only way out is in.” From Yoga International (Rolf Sovik):
Space is around you and within you. The entire universe is pervaded by space. Normally we pay attention to the objects that rest in space, but you can also sense the space in which things rest. But to do this you will need to tune yourself to it. The sense of space is apparent when you are quiet, breathing, and paying attention. With your eyes closed, the most self-evident space is the one you are occupying in your sitting posture. As you relax, your body becomes like a space within a space. You perceive it as almost void—as space-like—resting in the vaster space around you. Now let your breath flow into this space as you inhale. Let the inhalation seem to expand within you until the entire space is filled. As you exhale, your breath shrinks within you as if it were disappearing into your heart center, at the top of the diaphragm. Regularly pulsing in this way, the breath expands, filling the space in which your body rests, and then emptying it. You breathe as if your whole body breathes. Continue watching the flow of the breath. Don’t imagine that you are reaching enlightenment, dissolving your ego, awakening kundalini, or undergoing any other radical transformation. There are many, many miles to go before any such profound experience will take place. Simply watch the flow of breath with a sense of contentment. As you continue you may notice that you develop a less forceful and more serene breath. One of the effects of the practice is that the flow of breath becomes very fine. As it does, your awareness is freed to turn even further inward. ON-DEMAND Members who have monthly or weekly unlimited subscriptions will have access to pre-recorded classes just in case you can't make it to our LIVE sessions.
